Costa Coffee 'Wholegrain' Porridge Pot Review
Costa Coffee- Is their porridge worth the cost(a)? https://www.costa.co.uk
Today it is Costa Coffee's 'Wholegrain Porridge' pot which I had on the train coming back from London on Sunday.
Taste: Creamy and sweet is the first flavours that come to mind, though it is certainly not overwhelming as you can still taste a distinctive oaty flavour in the background which reminds you of the hearty, wholegrain oats that Costa's porridge prides itself on. Texture and consistency Again, very creamy. It was thick but not dry nor sticky. Creamy is definitely the perfect word to summarise. The whole rolled oats as well as the oat flakes gives a chunky texture which is very pleasant and interesting to eat. Price: £1.95. You get the option of a small jar of jam or golden syrup included with that too. For 80g of oats (a perfect sized portion that is satisfying and filling, just enough for enjoyment) I think it's reasonable.
‼️EXTRA BONUS‼️ Costa's porridge is available ALL DAY! Other coffee shops (e.g. Starbucks UK) only offer breakfast items until a certain time. I was very happy to see these at 6pm. Oatmeal can be eaten at any time of the day! Overall: A strong 8.5/10 for Costa. A nice taste and texture. The strongest point would be the value for money with the very satisfying portion you receive. To improve, I would reduce the amount of sweetener (sugar) in the recipe to bring though the wholesome whole grain taste further. Have you tried this? What did you think?
